Biography

Rae Parsons is a finance lawyer based in London.

Rae has over 20 years' experience as a lawyer focused on securitizations and structured finance.

She worked for a number of years at Lehman Brothers and in a 'magic circle' law firm, both in London and Tokyo. Her practice includes acting for originators and arrangers of UK, European and Japanese securitizations.

Rae was head of legal equity and structure finance teams at Lehman Brothers Asia before relocating to London, where she joined Lehman's Global Real Estate Group in a business origination role. She then became head of legal, UK for a data center operator and later worked for the Lehman administration followed by a number of consulting roles, including advising on projects in Cambodia, Spain and London.

Rae's transactional experience includes insured receivables financings; residential mortgage backed securitizations; auto-lease receivables securitizations; credit card receivables securitizations; real estate-backed securitizations; collateralised loan obligation transactions; and non-performing loan securitizations and SME lending.

Rae is described in Legal 500 2022 as "quite impressive on various aspects of the transaction", in Legal 500 2021 and Legal 500 UK 2020 as “a very good professional, always very responsive” who is “eager to propose solutions” with “very strong communication skills, which makes the people around her want to work together again.”

  • Advising Chinese Consortium in relation to a securitisation of certain payment obligations received from central government in connection with the building of 4th bridge in Panama
  • Advising a leading European car leasing company on its refinancing of lease receivables through the issuance of new, EUR senior secured notes and junior notes.
